The LiftMaster 98022 installs beside the torsion bar rather than above the door, leaving the overhead area unobstructed. Its DC powered system limits noise and vibration while operating garage doors weighing up to 850 pounds and measuring up to 14 feet high and 18 feet wide. The design also removes the need for a cable tension monitor, reducing the amount of hardware required during installation.
After connecting the opener to Wi-Fi, homeowners can use myQ to check the door’s status, operate it remotely, receive notifications and provide entry to approved guests. An included deadbolt secures the door each time it shuts, while Security+ 2.0 changes the access code with every remote click. During an outage, stored battery power keeps the system available for continued use.
A separate 1,500 lumen LED fixture provides bright garage lighting and responds automatically when the Smart Control Panel detects movement. The package also includes a three button remote and is compatible with HomeLink version 4.0 or newer. Warranty coverage includes the motor for its lifetime, parts for five years and the battery and accessories for one year.
