The Genie 2028 is built for residential sectional doors measuring up to 10 feet high. It can open the door at speeds of up to seven inches per second, while its DC powered system controls acceleration and stopping to reduce sudden movement. Homeowners can choose between a steel reinforced belt or chain drive, and the C channel rail conceals the moving components for a cleaner installed appearance.
To maintain a dependable connection, the opener automatically chooses between two operating frequencies based on nearby interference. Intellicode® protects the remote signal against potential code theft, while support for up to 16 wireless devices provides room for additional remotes and keypads. HomeLink® and Car2U® equipped vehicles can connect without a separate repeater or bridge.
The light is directed toward the interior of the garage for more useful illumination. A Genie LED bulb is recommended, although the opener can use an incandescent bulb rated at no more than 60 watts. The motor is covered by a 10 year limited warranty.
