What should I look for in a durable garage door for frequent daily use?

Insulated sandwich style doors are the best starting point. This type of door has an exterior and interior steel skin that gives the door huge head start on rigidity. However, there are “sandwich style” doors out there that use metal that may as well be a soda can. We usually explain to our customers that the thickness of those steel skins is arguably the most important part. Think of it like the difference between a soda can and a can of soup. If you have the soda can door, someone can stick a pocket knife right through the face of it.
