FAQ
Can Precision Fort Wayne help me choose between an insulated and non-insulated garage door?
Our door designers specialize in showing you all options that are available and can help answer any and all questions if needed.
The right choice usually comes down to what the garage is used for.
An insulated door has a foam core (polystyrene or polyurethane) sandwiched between steel or composite layers. That construction helps keep temperatures more stable, which matters if the garage is attached to your home, used as a workspace, or if you park in it during winters. Insulation also adds strength and cuts down on road noise and door rattle.
A non-insulated door is a lighter, single-layer panel. It costs less upfront and works fine for a detached garage used mainly for storage or parking, where temperature control isn't a priority.
When you book a consultation, our tea, will walk through your garage's use, your budget, and the R-value options available so you land on the door that actually fits your home.
