Repair or Replace?

Many times, garage door openers can be repaired and don't need to be replaced. Precision technicians arrive with a variety of parts on their truck in order to service your opener on the first visit. There are cases when replacement is necessary:

  • If the brand or manufacturer no longer exists, it may be hard to find replacement parts for your opener.
  • If a manufacturer has encountered many lawsuits due to safety, we don't feel comfortable repairing these openers for the safety of your family.
  • Federal regulations surrounding garage door openers were enacted in 1993. If your opener was installed prior to 1993, it may be time for a replacement. This is especially true if your opener does not have safety eyes, which is crucial for a safe operating garage door.

Imbalanced Garage Doors Cause Stress on Openers

A part of our 25-point inspection includes checking the balance of your garage door. An improperly balanced garage door puts extra stress on the opener and can cause it to fail. Not sure what an imbalanced door looks like? Check out this video.
